Liz has been a trained chef for over 30 years and has worked within hospitality across a variety of roles including accounts and training new staff. She has always had a passion for baking and would often bake cakes for her colleagues birthdays and special occasions, never asking for anything in return. Liz was always complimented on her delicious cakes but it wasn’t until a year ago when she became inspired by Kate Humble’s TV show ‘Back to the Land’ and felt inspired to take the leap and make a business out of her passion.
Not only do Martha and Molly’s provide the delicious cakes at The Laxey Glen (read my review of it by clicking here) but you can also order celebration cakes. Martha and Molly’s use as many Manx ingredients as they can and if you have an allergy or intolerance, don’t despair, your needs will be catered for! 3-4 days notice is needed and the cakes start from £35. Martha and Molly’s cater to any occasion and any flavour or style of cake – from unicorn cakes to vintage birthday cakes – just get in touch with your request. Your bespoke cake will also be delivered right to your door. The only difficult part will be not devouring the cake before the special occasion!

In addition to making celebration cakes, Liz has joined The Cook Shack to offer cookery lessons which take place in your own home. The lessons start from £55 for a two hour lesson for two people – further details can be found by clicking here.
I’m excited to let you know that Martha and Molly’s will be attending the Manx Food and Drink Festival on 14th/15th September where you will be able to buy delicious flapjacks in a variety of flavours. If you can’t wait until then, get yourself down to The Laxey Glen (open Fri-Mon 9am-5pm) or place your order directly by contacting Liz on 07624 413649 or via email or send a message on Facebook.
