LOCATION: Manx Telecom Headquarters, Isle of Man Business Park, Braddan (EAST)
INFORMATION: Suitable for young people between the ages of 11 and 18 and taking place on Friday 20th August from 9.30am – 12.30pm, this educational event will help young people learn more about jobs in tech and immerse attendees in tech-focused activities first-hand. Various local tech companies will be hosting stands at the event, including space company Man Sat, app developer Memory Lane Games, international software company Derivco, digital training and skills company Readynez, as well as the Chartered Institute for IT BCS and the UCM, who will be showcasing their various technology-based courses on offer.
There will also be a panel of ‘techperts’ talking about their jobs and what it takes to pursue a career in tech including computer game designers, cyber security experts, Bitcoin and digital forensic analysts for money laundering and anti-terrorism.
Love Tech have also created a QR code treasure hunt for the young people attending, to show off their skills, with the grand prize being a Oculus Quest II VR headset, sponsored by BCS with the winner selected by prize draw.
There will also be swag bags sponsored by Derivco for all those who complete the ‘tech themed’ treasure hunt challenge.
