Beachpowder was created by Stephanie and inspired by the sandy beaches of the Isle of Man.
It removes sand from the skin by absorbing the moisture and allowing the sand to simply fall away. Now some may say, “talcum powder does this”, but beachpowder is made from plant and mineral powders. It’s a natural product, free from talc, which appeals to many due to the negative news reports about talc.
If I’m completely honest, I had no idea that talcum powder did this so it completely blew me away that there was even something available to remove sand from skin, let alone something that is natural as well. This, however, was more than my husband knew who has just told me that he thought talcum power was actually “talc ‘n’ powder” because it contains “talc and powder”. I was crying with laughter!
The beachpowder tube is made from 100% recycled cardboard so can be recycled once you have finished with it. The shaker lid is plastic but the aim is to change this to a plant-based, biodegradable lid in time. Beachpowder also comes in a glittery, shimmer version but don’t worry, the glitter is plastic free and it turns you into a disco ball – which is a good thing!
Should I use Beachpower®?
I was delighted to be gifted some beachpowder and was excited to see if it was as good as it sounded. I can honestly say that it is brilliant! It really does get the sand off with little effort meaning we are able to leave the beach without the arduous task of trying to wash your feet, losing your balance before you get your shoes on and then standing in sand once more. It’s as simple as shake it on, rub your hands together, and voila, sand-free. Millie is able to use it herself which makes leaving the beach a bit of fun for her instead of the usual tantrums and bribery that are required.
