Car Free Adventures

We were approached by NetZeroIOM to see what we could get up to on a CAR FREE adventure and we were eager to give it go!

Did you know that 20% of the Island’s emissions come from transport? Replacing car journeys with public transport can help reduce CO2; a full bus can take up to 50 cars off the road so leaving the car at home when possible can make a big difference. Even better, walking or cycling is the ultimate zero-emission form of transport.

There are other benefits to going car-free too, such as slower quality time together with the family. Kids can get so much more out of the journey especially on foot, hearing the bird song and taking in the scenery.

We thought we’d give a car free adventure a go and filmed some of our fun! We’ve also put together some ideas and tips in case you wanted to try too.

Send us photos or videos of your car free adventures and you could appear on our social media pages! Send to or tag us on videos.

It’s all about doing something. We live out in the sticks and so we understand it’s hard to have a fully car-free adventure if public transport is limited, but travelling to the closest bus stop and then getting the bus is certainly a step in the right direction!
