Free Stuff!

Head to a play area – visit your old favourites or explore somewhere new using our Play Area page.

Splash parks – Douglas and Ramsey have splash parks which are open daily!

Manx Museum – It’s a classic but if you’ve not been for a while, there’ll probably be something new to see including the TT area. Free entry for all – Open everyday 9:30am – 4:30pm

House of Manannan – Our two are both petrified of the ‘dark bit’ but always enjoy driving a ferry! Free entry for kids – Open everyday 9:30am – 4:30pm

Beaches – the Manx weather is a world unto itself but pop on on sun cream (hopefully) and grab a bucket and spade. Can’t beat it!

Glens/plantations – There are plenty to choose from, we love Glen Helen, Groudle, Bishops Court and South Barrule.

The Silverdale Herring Hunt – Walk around Silverdale Glen trying to find as many ceramic herring as you can! Learn more by reading our article!

Manx National Heritage Sites – Apart from the Manx Museum and the House of Manannan, there are a whole HEAP of MNH sites to visit! You can purchase an adult annual membership for £40 and what’s better is that kids are FREE in everyone site! So why not find out more about the Laxey Wheel, Peel Castle, Rushen Abbey, Castle Rushen or Cregneash! Free entry for kids – Check MNH Website for Opening Times for each site

Family Library – Drop in and grab a book or play a game! Open most days from 10am (check their Facebook page for more info)

Manx Aviation and Military Museum – Operated entirely by volunteers, the museum is perhaps better aimed at older children, but provides some fun and interesting information about the Island’s military and aviation history. Free entry for ALL – Open 10am to 4:30pm every day until the end of September.

Jurby Transport Museum – Loads of vehicles, some of which children and clamber in and out of! Free entry for ALL – Open every Sunday.
