I’d heard there was a lovely park somewhere in Colby so decided to go on a hunt for it. I knew it was located within Cronk Cullyn but Google maps hadn’t been updated since the new houses were built. It turns out it was easy to find but hopefully the map I’ve included will help a little as it shows the new road in yellow. If you turn off the main road into Cronk Y Thatcher and follow it to the left as it becomes Cronk Cullyn and continue straight, you will see the play area on your left (shown in red on the map). Alternatively, if you’ve been dining in The Colby Glen (parking for patrons only), you can access the park via the path at the back of the car park.
Dwight’s Play Area (named after a local who tragically passed away while competing in the TT) is a small, enclosed park within a small residential area. The park has toddler swings, climbing equipment with a slide, spring rocker, spinning seat and round swing seat.
